Now in its third year, the Big Yard Bonefish Classic benefits the Mangrove Cay Recreational Community Park Association. Since 2021, the MCRCPA has been working on building a recreational park for the Little Harbor community. They have completed a basketball court, bleachers, and new bathrooms/changing facilities. Planned future work includes a running track, children’s playground, volleyball court, shaded picnic tables, a concessions area, lighting, and fencing. YDCCF has invested over $140,000 in grant funding for this project, and the Big Yard Classic is our primary fundraising event for the Mangrove Cay Park. The tournament is held annually in February with our Premier Lodge Partner Swain’s Cay Resort and is primarily a bonefishing tournament. You can see details and inquire about joining us for this signature event below. Read last year’s tournament report here. And if you can’t join us but wish to help support this project, you can make a donation directly here.

Swain’s Cay Lodge is located on a beautiful white sand beach on Andros Island Mangrove Cay settlement. Guests can choose from ocean-view suites, garden-view twin rooms, and a three-bedroom apartment for larger groups and families.
The Swain’s Cay Lodge Reefside Restaurant & Bar is located on the beach and serves up delicious three-course dinners of fresh lobster, fish, ribs, chicken, and conch. A home flat spans the water just beyond the lodge, where anglers can fish independently anytime during their stay. Andros Island is known as the “Bonefish Capital of the World,” where an expansive system of natural channels bisect the islands, creating hundreds of square miles of shallow lagoons and white sand flats where bonefish flourish.
With easy access to the best fishing areas, guides will take you to where the tides and winds are most favorable on any given day. Swain’s home water is the middle and south bight, which are vast and diverse fisheries that hold great numbers of bonefish - everything from easy-to-catch “schoolie-sized” fish all the way up to some of the largest bonefish that swim in the Bahamas.
The west side of Andros is only a 40-minute boat run away and is a great spot for larger bonefish along with seasonal opportunities for tarpon and permit. As always, YDCCF is grateful for your generous support, and we look forward to seeing you at Swain's Cay Lodge in February! -

McClean's Town is located on the east end of Grand Bahama Island and was devastated by Hurricane Dorian in 2019. The primary challenge for McClean's Town has been rebuilding houses and infrastructure in the community to attract residents to return home. Most were forced to leave since their homes were destroyed and have not returned. Once a thriving community of 250 residents, McClean's Town now supports only around 50 people.
YDCCF was instrumental in providing support in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian in 2019. Since then, we have been partnering with Premier Lodge Partner East End Lodge on the East End Rebuilding Fund which is assisting residents in the rebuilding process. YDCCF has invested over $150,000 in this effort, and the McClean’s Town Invitational is our primary fundraising event. Held annually each October, the event kicks off with the annual McClean’s Town Conch Cracking Festival, a celebration for the entire community that draws visitors from all over the Bahamas and internationally. The McClean’s Town Invitational is a multi-species fly fishing tournament, and in it’s inaugural year in 2024 raised over $80,000 for the Rebuilding Fund. You can read a tournament report here. And if you can’t join us in 2025, please consider making a direct donation to the Rebuilding Fund here.

East End Lodge is one of our favorite operations in the entire Bahamas. Expect to fish permit and large bonefish with experienced guide staff; returning each day to great food, a full bar, and spacious rooms overlooking the water–all at the best price point on Grand Bahama. East End Lodge is close to the five bights that cut through the “horn” of the island. This multi-bight fishery enables the guides to fish optimal tides throughout the day, typically keeping clients on fish and in the action regardless of what the tides are doing at any given time. Direct flights from major carriers makes travel into Freeport, Grand Bahama very easy, making this a perfect destination for quick two- and three-day trips and week-long excursions.

The Ascension Bay Super Slam started in 2011 as part of a series of annual Redbone events that raise money for Redbone and Cystic Fibrosis research. After three years each at Grand Slam Lodge (2011-2013), Swains Cay, Bahamas (2014-2016) and El Pescador, Belize (2017-2019), and a couple years off for Covid, The Super Slam has returned to Premier Lodge Partner Grand Slam Lodge in 2022 and 2024. YDCCF has been a partner and facilitator of this series of Redbone events.
Moving forward, YDCCF is transitioning the Ascension Bay Super Slam to the YDCCF Tournament Series as a stand-alone tournament to benefit the Punta Allen Community Fund, a joint collaborative fund designed to benefit the entire community of Punta Allen. Since YDCCF was started in Punta Allen in 2016, we have invested over $250,000 in grant funding to various projects in the village. Please watch our short film about our work in Punta Allen here and you can make a direct donation to the Punta Allen Community Fund here.
As dates and venue are finalized for the 2026 Ascension Bay Super Slam, we will post updates here. If you’re interested in joining us, use the button below to send us an email inquiry.
