YDCCF announces over $90,000 in grants

The Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation (YDCCF) was established in 2016 by Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures to support the local fisheries, ecosystems and communities where great angling is found.  In its first five years, YDCCF has leveraged more than a million dollars for grassroots projects in angling destinations across the globe, funding projects large and small focused on conservation, education and community growth, and resilience.

The YDCCF Board met at the end of April and approved $91,000 for nine new grants to projects including destinations in Mexico, the Bahamas, Mongolia, Montana, and the Cook Islands. The slate of grants highlights YDCCF’s continued commitment to fisheries restoration, protection and education, and community assistance.  Groups funded include Montana Trout Unlimited, Friends of the Environment (Abaco), The Mangrove Cay Recreational Community Park Association, Seacology, The Healthy Taimen Festival, and the Upper Yellowstone Watershed Group, among others.

YDCCF is unique in that it provides a mechanism for anglers to give back to the places that give us so much. In the current environment, it is no longer enough to simply visit and recreate in these fragile environments, there exists a responsibility to help protect, preserve and enhance these communities and YDCCF is the only organization of its kind with the network of partnerships and relationships on the ground in these places that allow us to get things done. Destination angling must also be about stewardship and YDCCF exists to be the conduit for anglers to help.
